Rubrik far exceeded revenue guidance for its second fiscal 2027 quarter.

The data‑protection and cybersecurity vendor posted $427.3 million revenue, up 38% year‑over‑year and well above its $397 million high‑end guidance. GAAP net loss stood at $61.8 million, an improvement from the prior‑year $95.9 million loss. Subscription revenue hit $407.2 million, rising 37% YoY.

Rubrik CEO, Chairman and Co‑Founder Bipul Sinha noted on the earnings call these were standout results, marking the firm’s 10th consecutive quarter of beat‑and‑raise performance as a public company. Net‑new subscription ARR growth accelerated, reflecting platform strength and steady demand for Rubrik’s agentic cyber‑resilience offerings.

Sinha added few peers at Rubrik’s scale deliver such growth alongside expanding margins and solid free‑cash‑flow generation, and the firm lifted its full‑year outlook.

CFO Kiran Choudary cited 33% subscription ARR growth, improving subscription‑ARR contribution margins and revised guidance as proof of scalable execution. The company enters fiscal‑2027 H2 from a strong position.

William Blair analyst Jason Ader attributed the strong quarter to robust cyber‑resilience demand, effective land‑and‑expand sales, and diversified growth drivers including on‑prem/cloud backup, identity resilience and Rubrik Agent Cloud (RAC). Rubrik’s growth is less reliant on cloud migration and supported by multiple streams: cloud, non‑cloud workloads, identity, Microsoft 365 and security products.

RAC gains momentum with over 15 paying customers and rising PoC‑to‑production conversion. Though still immaterial to fiscal‑2027 guidance, adoption is encouraging among organisations running AI coding and search agents. Rubrik’s unified platform covering agent visibility, identity, runtime governance and Agent Rewind differentiates it from point‑product alternatives.

Sinha argued AI creates massive productivity alongside major new security risks, calling this an AI‑cybersecurity singularity moment. AI‑powered threat actors can outpace human‑led defence and recovery, requiring agent‑driven AI‑based countermeasures, which Rubrik’s Agent Cloud delivers via threat detection and autonomous response.

Legacy security stacks built for human‑operated threats cannot keep pace with AI agents chaining vulnerabilities to execute breaches and encryption at machine speed. Rubrik positions itself as an AI‑agent‑native solution that autonomously gathers intelligence, builds recovery workflows and seeks human approval to drive remediation outcomes. Sinha believes Rubrik is still in the early phase of AI‑driven market expansion.

Rubrik pegs its 2029 total addressable market above $125 billion, broken down into >$30 billion data management, >$45 billion security/resilience, >$10 billion identity and >$40 billion AI.

Next‑quarter guidance sits at $430 million ±$1 million (22.8% mid‑point YoY increase). Full‑year fiscal‑2027 guidance rises to $1.694 billion ±$1 million, upgraded from $1.643 billion ±$5 million.
