Cloud file streamer LucidLink is extending its media‑workflow capabilities and developer tools, alongside building centralized managed‑service‑provider facilities.

Peter Thompson, co‑founder and CEO of LucidLink, said: “LucidLink is expanding from the shared filespace teams work in, to a broader platform for connecting data and the workflows that depend on it. We’re bringing work to the content, instead of forcing the content to move before work can begin.”

LucidLink Connect imports existing media into shared production workflows. Teams can currently access and edit files from S3, Dropbox, Frame.io and other connected sources directly within LucidLink. Connect is being enhanced with a new management UI and editing capabilities.

Upcoming offering Connect Publish will let teams decide when completed work commits back to its connected source for downstream applications and production pipelines, with no extra copies, exports or transfers required.

Richard Yu, Chief Product Officer at LucidLink, said: “The latest LucidLink Connect takes users from access to action. Content stays where it is stored, teams can work with it directly and IT avoids new migration projects whenever content joins a workflow. And with LucidLink Developer Tools, those workflows can be automated and integrated directly into existing systems.”

LucidLink Developer Tools help organisations automate repetitive tasks, embed LucidLink into production systems and add AI assistance to file workflows, letting teams focus more on creative output. Its Python SDK delivers programmatic file access for developers, while the MCP Server offers AI agents standards‑based interaction via this same developer foundation.

Developers may leverage the SDK across scripts, servers, containers, cloud environments and automation pipelines; the MCP Server extends this framework for AI‑assisted and agent‑driven workflows. According to LucidLink, the two components provide a supported path to codify recurring media tasks — ranging from project setup and file operations to internal utilities, orchestration and new agent‑led workflows — independent of a desktop‑mounted filespace.

Both Python SDK and MCP Server will reach general availability later this month.

Managed Service Provider program

LucidLink MSP enables specialist service providers to run and support LucidLink at scale for their customers, accelerating adoption of shared‑file media workflows backed by specialist ongoing support.

This partner programme delivers centralized provisioning, administration and billing for LucidLink across multiple customer environments. A bring‑your‑own‑storage model aligns with customers’ existing infrastructure, and centralized operations support partners as they grow their customer footprint. The initiative builds upon this year’s earlier‑released LucidLink Management Platform (LMP).

Partners retain status as customer‑of‑record, holding end‑user contracts, billing relationships and tier‑one support, while LucidLink supplies the platform, enablement resources and tier‑two‑three backend support. The programme targets service providers serving media‑post, live‑sports, AEC and enterprise groups requiring high‑performance shared‑file workflows free of sync‑and‑copy overhead.

LucidLink will attend IBC 2026 at RAI Amsterdam, September 11‑14, Stand 7.C18, running live demos for LucidLink Filespace, Connect, TeamCache, Web & Mobile plus Developer Tools. Show visitors can join customer sessions, happy‑hour gatherings and stand‑hosted events throughout the exhibition.
